There are 3 reading strategies:
- Pre-reding
- While-reading
- Post-reading
Pre-reading
(talks about what I can bring to the table? What's the purpose?)
Pre-reading could be done by brainstorming and group discussions on the definition, the charateristics and experiences that we have had with that particular topic.
While-reading
(most vital part to obtain an overview and the relevance of the text)
To be honest, I've never actually heard the term 'while-reading', but this reading strategy involves 'skimming and scanning'.
To skim and scan texts, we can refer to the summaries, headings or even illustrations of the text. We are not suppose to read everything, just search for specific information and see whether the text is relevant or not. Make notes and highlight!
Post-reading
(summarize and use the points you've highlighted)
